Staex and Kanold Successfully Deploy Decentralized Connectivity on Snowmobiles

Staex Trusted Data Chain enhances transparency, automation, and scalability in real-world environments

Staex and Kanold have successfully completed a joint project to explore how decentralized, secure networking can improve snow cleaning operations.

During the testing phase, two of Kanold’s snowmobiles were equipped with Staex gateways to collect and log real-time telemetry and GPS data. These data streams were securely anchored on the blockchain, ensuring tamper-proof records that could be directly verified through a dedicated dashboard. This setup enabled precise documentation of snow cleaning activities, supporting both reliable invoicing and future auditing processes.

Operating snowmobiles in harsh winter conditions presents unique technical challenges—from low temperatures and remote terrains to fluctuating network coverage. Staex’s lightweight, decentralized networking architecture proved resilient in these demanding settings, maintaining stable connectivity and data integrity throughout the trials.

For us at Kanold, transparency and operational reliability are key,” said Willi Mulack, Head of IT-Development at Kanold. “With Staex, we were able to test a system that not only meets these needs but goes further—offering verifiable, real-time insights into our snow cleaning activities. This is a step toward smarter, more accountable operations.”

The successful deployment highlights Staex’s adaptability: whether in urban smart mobility, industrial IoT networks, or snow cleaning fleets, Staex technology ensures that data remains secure, transparent, and verifiable.

“This collaboration with Kanold shows how decentralized infrastructure can deliver tangible value in real-world mobility scenarios,” said Prof. Dr. Alexandra Mikityuk, CEO and Co-Founder of Staex.“ By combining secure connectivity with blockchain transparency, we’re creating the foundation for the next generation of automated and trustworthy public services.”

Following these promising results, Staex and Kanold have evaluated system performance under real-world conditions and are exploring next steps for scaling and customization across operational use.

This collaboration showcases how decentralized technologies like Staex can transform even the most challenging field operations—bringing trust, efficiency, and intelligence to mobility networks in any environment.
