A Lighthouse for Verified Data in Industry
In May 2024, Staex led a public-private consortium NEXA, consisting of nine partners: Vantage Towers, paymenttools, Berlin Partner, Chirp Wireless, Lisk, ICP, Germandromes, The Drivery, and Marienpark. NEXA is a lighthouse project of how applied verified data technologies can make a difference for the industry.
At the launch event in Marienpark Berlin, opened by Secretary of State Dr. Fischer, Staex showcased how partners benefit from a machine-to-machine economy. Staex demonstrated that the concept of a seamless and reliable machine economy is not just a vision — it can be realized today with real technology. This opens up endless possibilities for new business opportunities transforming how industries automate and meet the ever-changing market demands.

Drones are paid for the data they emit, telecom towers are paid for capturing and anchoring it, and landowners are paid for the use of their property during operation. Distributed value capture, end to end.
Architecture of the Machine Economy
Staex's data partner, Staex's payment partner, and Staex's connectivity partner connect through smart contracts, immutable on-chain data, tokens, and encrypted digitally signed data — flowing to Government, Telecom Tower Operators, and Real Estate Partners.
In the emerging machine-to-machine economy, all stakeholders can engage in automated transactions with each other. The drone receives remuneration for providing data, the data owner (telecom tower company) sells it to interested buyers, and the landowner receives payment for the use of their property during the operation.
All stakeholders, including the drone operators, data owners, and landowners, had clear and transparent access to smart contracts that outlined the rules and regulations governing the transactions. Staex played a crucial role by enabling seamless and secure communication between the machines involved in the ecosystem, ensuring reliable data exchange and transaction integrity throughout the process.

Staex addresses these challenges by creating a dynamic network connecting machines and devices across the partners, integrating with tools and technologies for verifiable integrity and automation. This infrastructure allows a secure, reliable, and efficient environment for conducting business.
